Have you ever wondered how the life of a virtual assistant before they become one? There are lots of challenges that we have encountered in our lives. Challenges that molded us of what we have become today.

I would like to share with you my journey before I decided to become a virtual assistant. The challenges I encountered and how I was able to overcome it.

Balancing work and parenthood is a very challenging part. I’m always focused on work. And I feel like I was not giving enough time and attention to my daughter. Even though my older sister helped me take care of her, I still feel that I'm a failure in raising my own child.

2. Being an Employee

Working in a private financing corporation for 4 years. At first I was content with the salary I received. I could have saved for emergency purposes. But as the years passed by, the price of basic commodities rose and our salary barely increased. I started struggling in handling my finances. And when the pandemic came it became worse. That’s when I decided to quit and find another suitable job.

Struggling between work and being a parent. I was trying to think on how I would be able to overcome this. I was just scrolling on my Facebook account when I came across a post about a virtual assistant doing freelancing. It talks about having financial freedom and working at your own convenience. It really caught my attention since it’s the type of job that could possibly solve my problem.

At first I was hesitant because I have no idea on how I can become a virtual assistant. One of my close friends shared a link about The Filipino Virtual Assistance. They are offering courses for aspiring virtual assistants and for other freelancers who wanted to learn new skills. Unsure of my decision but I took the risk and I’m glad I did because it's worth it.

Currently I am working as an assistant store manager, a virtual assistant and I’m also taking a freelancing course with The Filipino Virtual Assistance Academy to learn new skills and be able to offer quality services.

Anyone can be a virtual assistant including you. Don't be afraid to take risks and be passionate in everything you do. I hope this made you inspired and motivated to become a successful virtual assistant.
